There are many types of carburetors models available today. Stock, jet, and updraft carbs are just to name a few. Having the right mixture of air to combine with fuel injections is important for your carby to work properly. Before buying a carburetor or replacement parts you should find out what the problem is, or if a shop can help you find a problem. A carb should be able to measure the amount of air that is flowing in and come up with the right mixture amount of fuel while adjusting for temperature, atmospheric pressure, hot or cold starts, full throttle or high speeds, light or heavy loads, cruising at part throttle, and acceleration. For some, you might only need to replace the automotive vacuum to fix any problems with air flow. However, car owners with an internal combustion engines still have to have a low rate of exhaust emissions. Racing vehicles can have different venturi models compared to stock cars. Fixed or variable venturi engines in an automobile each have their own disadvantages, and will usually be based on what type of car you're driving. Automotive vacuums are usually easy to be replaced but should be well maintained considering it plays a large role in carburetors. If friends and family can't tell you a good retail shop that has replacement carb parts, call different shops in your area to see if they have parts in stock or if they will need to order what you're looking for. This can also give you an idea that the mechanic you will be working with knows how carbs work.
